MISSION STATEMENT

My husband and I are building this farm as a legacy for our children. Overtime, we hope to create a business that we can leave to them and their children. Our primary mission is to raise fat, sassy Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We hope spoiled goats will producing healthy and happy kids, along with the potential for goat milk and goat milk products. As you will see below, we've pretty much met our 2022 goals and are working on our 2023 goals. Thank you for visiting our website.

ABOUT OUR ANIMALS

The nutterbutter head butters

We try to take the very best care of ALL our animals without using unnecessary medicines and chemicals. If you're a GSF animal, you are well feed and very well loved.

CARE: GSF health plan includes de-worming animals only when necessary and not on a fixed schedule. Currently we are not vaccinating unless banding a buckling. GSF strives to breed the healthiest and friendliest goats. This year our breeding plan seems to be yielding just what we'd hoped for. As far as housing goes, we have multiple shelters/barns in each field and us the "deep litter method" with goats and fowl. For us, this means cleaning up the large "deposits", turning the bedding and adding fresh pine shavings as needed.

FEED: Goats on the farm are fed Tucker Milling Products and quality hay with access to lose minerals every day. Recently we changed to Shegogg Minerals and the goats love it! GSF Guinea Fowl and Turkeys are feed high quality Game bird feed. Our chickens are primarily fed layer feed and grit. We also feed our chickens fermented feed and they love it! Fermented feed increases digestion and nutrient absorption, provides added probiotics / immune health and better-quality eggs. All our animals get treats from time to time like lettuce, strawberries, spinach, pumpkin and bananas.

Don't forget about our amazing Livestock Guard Dogs, Duke and Daisy! These two Great Pyrenees are lovers and fighters. Let me tell you, they've scared off countless predators and always keep things lively in the pastures. Big shoutout to Dr. Gill at Morgan Animal Hospital for helping us keep our furry protectors healthy and happy!

2025 GOALS

1) Herd Maintenance - We're excited to have Sawyer, our new buck and G.O.A.T. of the Year, join us in 2024. He got off to a great start and we are now anticipating the arrival of his babies in Jan/Feb. Additionally, we're looking to add a quality Nubian doe to begin our journey into breeding Mini Nubians.

2) Farm - While most of the infrastructure we need is in place, there are improvements that need to be done to our fowl and goat barns.

3) Social Media - Get on a standard posting schedule and update website monthly (maybe we can get that done this year since we didn't quite make it in 2024)

4) Products - We exceeded expectations last year and were so excited to expand our lotion business to lip balms while introducing "the UGLY G.O.A.T. soap". This year, we aim to elevate your experience even further by adding companion candles and creating more delightful gift bag bundles.

5) Philanthropy - GSF is dedicated to focusing our efforts on supporting our local animal shelter, helping those furry friends in need. While our hearts go out to all affected by Hurricane Helene and the California fires, we believe that by strengthening our community, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals who rely on us for care and love.

2024 GOALS

1) Herd Maintenance - implemented pasture rotation, breeding schedules and developed a consistent milking process

2) Farm - Planted pastures with perennial legumes that provide erosion control and forage for livestock. We purchased rainwater barrels to help with water management

3) Social media - Not yet on a posting schedule & only updating website as needed

4) Products - Lock down a goat milk lotion recipe along with package design and venues for selling

5) Philanthropy - Thank you for your generous support! We’re proud to announce we will be supporting Morgan County Animal Shelter, dedicating our efforts to help local animals in need. Additionally, we’re thrilled to share that all proceeds from one day of our Oktoberfest sales were donated to Samaritans Purse for hurricane relief efforts. Together, we can make a difference in our community and beyond
